Pet Soup Schedule December 18, 2009 For 2010:
|
About the Pet Soup Program The Pet Soup food pantry provides dog and cat food to needy pet owners. We all know that taking care of a pet is a life-long commitment. In a perfect world, everyone would be able to provide for all of their pet’s needs for their entire lives but sometimes our financial circumstances change for the worse especially in these economic times. We are glad to be able to give food to those who are economically disadvantaged. Pet Soup operates out of the Harvest Hope Food Bank parking lot every other Friday (see schedule at left). All of the food is donated by local pet food manufacturers and the general public and the program is largely run by volunteers. This simple, yet much needed program serves more than 4,000 registered clients, and distributes more than 40,000 pounds of pet food every two weeks. Please donate to support this worthy program and help keep pets out of shelters. Pet Soup is completely dependent on private donations, and we are very appreciative of monetary donations to help with administrative and transport costs, food donations, and volunteers. We accept donations of any brand of cat or dog food. If bags have been opened, please be sure they are taped securely shut. You may drop food off in the Pet Soup Bin outside of Project Pet's offices at 6880 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia, SC. If you would like to help support the program financially, click here.
Need Help? Pet Soup is only available at the specified dates and times, and supplies are limited based on the amount of food donated each week.
